Changing the Moodle language

It is possible to change the language of the Moodle user interface for all users, except for those courses where the teacher has selected “Enforce Language” in the course settings.

If you want to change the language of your Moodle sessions:

1. Logon to Moodle;
2. Click your profile picture at the top;
3. Click “Preferences”;
4. Click “Preferred Language” and choose the language.

If you are a teacher and want to force your students to use a specific user interface language for the course:

1. Logon to Moodle;
2. Click the course for which you want to enforce a language;
3. Click “Edit Settings” on the wheel at the top right (location might vary depending on your theme);
4. Scroll down and expand “Appearance” tab;
5. Choose the language that you want to enforce.
